Jordan Perkins

Jordan Perkins is a born and raised Tennessean and began her dancing career at age 6. That was her first taste of Ballet. Jordan has been classically trained by Julie’s School of Dance in Hermitage, GATE, and The Dancer’s Studio. In 2008, Jordan met Hope Borthick and student taught her classes at The Dancer Studio. While there, Owner Lea Dalley Caplenor mentored Jordan in teaching Acrobatics and Ballet. Jordan has performed in two Nutcracker ballets and a Cinderella ballet. At GATE Tutorial, Jordan taught Ballet, Lyrical and Acrobatics. Jordan has also choreographed for her church dance group since 2006. She graduated from International Academy of Design and Technology (IADT Nashville) with honors where she received her associates’ degree in Fashion design and Merchandising. Jordan has been teaching dance for over a decade. At In-Body-Meant Dance Academy she was their Acrobatics teacher and taught at their Summer Intensives. She has taught Ballet and Acrobatics at Platinum Dance Studio while also coaching their Recreational and Team classes. In Spring of 2013, she became apprenticed to Karen Hendrix, of Karen Hendrix Couture, in Nashville and completed 28 weeks of internship. All the while continuing teaching Acrobatic, Ballet, and Lyrical for GATE. Jordan has taught in Triple Threat Talent Studio’s Theatrical Productions; Teen Beach Movie and Descendants 2014-2016. Jordan is a teacher at CenterStage Performing Arts Academy. She has taught Pointe, Classical Ballet, Lyrical, Acrobatics, and Pre-Pointe classes. Jordan has worked as a dance instructor, private instructor, dance choreographer, props mistress and wardrobe mistress in Centerstages Variety Shows as well as their Summer Musicals Beauty and the Beast JR, Shrek JR, and Mary Poppins. Jordan says, “Dance heals, it brings us the calm we seek in everyday life. My hope is that before every class we leave all the craziness that life throws at us at the door. We can truly find peace in the time we spend together learning and exploring dance.” Her favorite quote is by Martha Graham “DANCE IS THE HIDDEN LANGUAGE OF THE SOUL.”
