Ty Jackson

Ty is a Robertson County native, having grown up here and danced across the South for over 13 years. He discovered his passion for clogging at the young age of 8, and began his clogging journey at the Main Stage Music and Dance Studio in Springfield. As he quickly progressed, he began competing in competitions all across the United States. At the age of 11 he was awarded National Champion, and went on to win many other awards throughout his clogging career. At the age of 16, Ty began teaching private and group classes and choreographing competition and recital routines at the Main Stage Music and Dance Studio. He now dances professionally at the Grand Ole Opry in Nashville, Tennessee. Throughout the years, Ty has attended many clogging conventions, workshops, and competitions to enhance his skills and to offer quality instruction to his students. Ty graduated magna cum laude from Lipscomb University in May 2017 with a bachelor of science in psychology with the goal of becoming a Certified Child Life Specialist. “Disabled and sick children who smile through their difficulties are an inspiration to me, and that is why I have always felt the desire to work with the pediatric population” says Ty. Through teaching clogging, and serving and working in different capacities with children of all ages, Ty has discovered that he has a heart for children, regardless of their circumstances. After graduation, Ty has begun working vigorously towards his certification. He also actively serves in his local church and various ministries. Ty is very passionate about missions and serves both locally and internationally. Ty is thrilled to be a part of the Shalom Movement family and is honored to have the opportunity to continue sharing his love for clogging with others in his hometown community. “I love the idea of making children feel unique and special and bringing joy into their lives through the art of dance.”
